Alright, truth be told I went to write this last night and decided I was too tired and sick to finish...so here I go.
I spent most of Christmas at home with the wife and pups just relaxing, and my evening working to get a head start on today.
As I sat there I found an email alerting me to another donation on the website, I found a spot in my work to stop and headed over to PayPal to verify it.
What I came across is a huge act of generosity from a Crew member which left me speechless. As I headed to 6Crew to confirm the donation I realized exactly what this members donation meant, that we hit our goal for the year just 7 days before the start of 2013.
I couldn't help but reflect on the donations, time, thought and dedication to the members and admins here at 6Crew. Its because of you we reached a wild donation goal that was only started midway through 2012.
It hasn't been quite a blissful 2012 for 6Crew, we have seen our shares of Mazdas die, get sold and members just move on. We've started with no real idea of where the Mazda 6 platform was headed only to (in my opinion) get a Christmas gift at the end of the year with a solid platform to continue our expansion and welcome in new members.
The Administration here has had its turn over too of people and honestly nearing the end of the year I wasn't sure myself if I had the time or patience to work on the panel myself.
However, that being said last nights donation as well as the donations we have received throughout the year have only solidified my passion to continue developing this site.
I feel as if we are more than a random car website and more of a family here. Picking each other up when we need it most (and sometimes slapping people over the face when they need it too o_0 )
In a world full of uncertainty and multiple doomsday's (I found another one happens to land on a certain members birthday in January...weird) I want to renew my commitment to the website and to you all. Soon I will have the Administration team clearly define our goals for the new year. They may not be flashy, crazy or one of a kind, but in setting these goals I believe we can better work together to expand our membership, and create an even more in depth website for you all.
Please bear with us, as with any family there are disagreements and times when we might not start off on the same page. But I promise you we have and will continue to debate, learn and adapt to grow this website to the better.
And as always your opinions, donations and most importantly heart are always welcome.
Look for some cool things to start in January, and I hope to see some of you face to face in the new year.
