That's true. The only benefit I see is the slight possibility of getting the dash kit for the NA 6 owners rather than having to buy a Metra one (and wait for them to make one in the first place).

Style is good but where's the power? I'd like to see a DI 2.5 w/ AWD. That would be really cool.

I would definately consider it just because of the LED markers on the mirrors, I've wanted those for oh so long. =p

seems like another halfhearted attempt to market the dying 6. Its a shame such a great car is being destroyed by poor marketing

EDIT: I kinda meant that last bit for the first gen as much as the newer ones

It's just like the "Special Edition" trim that Honda used on Accords. It's basically one of the cheaper models with less features. It's better than the base model, but has nowhere near the features of the top trim level.

i believe that is correct also.

i would rather take the stripped down sedan the rest of the world gets than a fully loaded usdm 09 in a heartbeat!
at least i can swap bumpers and grilles. but i would have to sacrifice the hatch.. which is basicaly the "sport" in atenza.

Does anyone else think that the 17" rolling stock alloys that those cars come with are just completely hideous?

I really don't like the supersizing that occured with the new 6's, they are too curvy and bulbous for my taste. The fact that Mazda finally include a removable head unit is pretty awesome though.
