It'd be kind of cool to have something like this, but $900 is totally not worth it to me.
They're perfectly legal to have...just not for use on-road unless you actually are an LEO and have a valid reason to use them.

I've been thinking of becoming a volunteer firefighter and this was one of the things I was thinking about: how could I have red lights in my 6 and still keep the sleek look.

If it were me, I would probably replace my parking lights and sidemarkers with red strobes and wire them to only come on with an external switch. I would probably also add some strobes in the grill and the edge of the headliner. The 3rd brake light would be replaced with a light wired to work normally when braking, but as a strobe when the switch is on. The inner brake lights would be wired to do the same thing.

Charles, I think you could make some serious coin by coming up with some packages and marketing to the VFD crowd.

There are quality strobe kits for sale all over including on EBAY for a few hundred bucks. Multi function kits wit various patterns. Lotsa off road chase trucks use them.
I chase our off road team every other month with a cop in his prerunner. He says he doesnt have them on his chase truck because he is not allowed...

some states have certain laws with putting strobes in your headlights and brake lights.. I know in PA police cars and only emergency vehicles can have them... personal response vehicles cant have them so if this were the case jst get some undercover light packages and put them inside behind the rear view mirror nd in the back window... also in the grill... i did all the same and you cant even tell the lights r there untill they are on.. but like i said all states are different

We just had a security force (air force cop) get busted cause he was pulling people over in his car downtown and giving them Government tickets.
but can't for the life of me figure out why you would want "cop" lights on "your" car. wouldn't you get tired of pulling people over at work? Sounds like a when need that guy from "to catch a predator" to take a look at this. |
