Thanks guys....was absolutely heartbreaking, and frustrating all at the same time...
I will fully admit, I got angry at one point and did cry a little....watching 4 years worth of work, effort, money, and time just burn away. Without a thing I could do. All I could do was.... ![]() sit, and watch....hell was close enough to a corn field...I should went looking for popcorn! haha... Anyways, still annoyed by this event, but am accepting it for what it is. A cause still has not been determined, but like everyone has said...I am ok. Ironically, the last thing on my mind was me yesterday. Was pulling my daughters car seat out...completely oblivious to the fact there is a gas tank basically at my shins. But you do what you gotta do, ya know? So there you have it...gone in 10 repeats of 60 seconds... -Chrispy

Chris....if you'd like..I'll let you take my 6 for a spin. You'll be the only one other than myself ever allowed to do that, lol. But, seriously....the keys are yours.

After they diagnose the cause...........
1 of 2 things usually happens, 1. user error- either upkeep or issue with something they wired in. they call it a 1 person accident and cover it, minus deductible. 2. dealer/out side source issue- dealer faulty wiring or someone bombs the car. they cover it minus the deductible and then they go after the faulty party for damages. rarely, but more common these days......... they will not cover it because they find where someone intensionally set the car on fire....... to "sell it back to the insurance" because they can no longer afford it.(pretty sure this isnt the case here) |

Yeah, there are some really great photos I must admit...unintentional too. My car was cursed, and finally released its inner demon....good Lord the interior looks like hell unleashed.

Ouch. Glad you are ok man, I would be devastated after an event like this. I've seen a few totaled 6's but this is by far the worst. definitely thinking about getting a fire extinguisher in the near future.
Good luck with your future ride(s).

So....updates...
Last week was a busy week for us. First, the cause of the fire was never determined. The damage was too extensive for a thorough investigation by the insurance company. Secondly, having ALL of my maintenance records really helped me out here. Initially I was being offered $7,250 for the car. I sent in my records, every last one of them, explained the car was not winter driven, and sent in my most recent photos of the car. It turned out that I got $9,425 in the end. I was happy with this, as I hoped to get $8,500 from the start. I do regret never making time for a photoshoot, but I do have my own pictures that I will hold on to. I am ok, and this is the MOST important part. Thirdly, we bought a house on Saturday. mls.ca listing # 26414 for those interested. Fourthly, with the insurance money combined with my savings (which was supposed to be for the house) we have bought a 2006 Mazda 5, and paid cash for it (still owing on my 6 tho )Finally, thank you for all those who expressed a concern. I was disappointed then, but things have really turned around, and this whole situation has become quite positive.

Cars are one thing, but IMO a house is totally different (since they usually appreciate in value, unlike cars...)
I'm sorry about your loss of your 6, but happy about the house.

Glad to hear everything has turned for the better for you. Sometimes it takes a dramatic event to get life on the right track.
Congrats on the new house as well. Love the kitchen with that wooden island! The stone work on the exterior is gorgeous. lastly, nice signature.lol.
